Quotes That Make My Soul Sing #9

“Trying to keep negative experiences at bay may actually keep us stuck and prevent us from embracing the healing journey.”

Lily Dulan, Giving Grief Meaning

For a very long time I shoved the painful experiences in my life down. I pretended like they didn’t bother me, and I tortured myself within for years. I projected that pain out and saw it come back to me over and over again in different experiences and people. When I chose to face my experiences, I gave myself the opportunity to grow exponentially. I wouldn’t be able to write all the things that I do if I hadn’t been through all the experiences I have. I wouldn’t have the compassion I have if I chose to deny the hurt that was inside of me. The pain we shove down not only hurts us, but it hurts the people we encounter. If it wasn’t for seeing the truth in the words above. I would still be stuck repeating patterns while feeling trapped in my own reality.

With Love and Gratitude,

@Rachael Wolff, Author of Letters from a Better Me

  1. Agree!! The synchronicity 😅. Only today I published a video regarding this topic. I have always thought of it like this: If we do not go into our darker parts, we would not acknowledge our bright side. Only by knowing the dark, we can know the light.

Here’s the link to the video I mentioned: https://youtu.be/EKc6f14HXOI
