“It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is.”
Hermann Hesse
Sometimes I need a reminder that the best thing I can do for the people in my life is to recognize them for who they are, not who I think they should or even could be. When I’m willing to see the person in front of me, I give them the opportunity to feel my authentic love for them. What an amazing blessing that is!
Added bonus, it helps me recognize and see clearly who I need to distance myself from when I recognize that who they are isn’t helping me serve my highest good. I honor them by finding my blessings in my experience of them in my life. It feels so much better than being resentful!
