Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #257

I’m grateful for the gift of free will. Free will tells me I don’t have to live in accordance to anyone else’s rules for my life. This doesn’t mean there won’t be rewards or consequences for how I CHOOSE to live, but it means that I’m accountable and responsible to change what doesn’t work and to celebrate and expand on what does. The gift of free will saved me from a life of victimhood and misery. For that, I’m nothing but absolutely grateful.

Taking my power back was a direct result of embracing the gift of free will and living on my terms. I had to stop doing the things that kept me prisoner by setting myself free. No one else was keeping me there but my own thoughts, beliefs, actions, and reactions. I reacted to the world instead of living consciously in the energy I was choosing to project out to the world. My mother used to say, “I can’t make you do anything.” Little did I know she was giving me a gift to see my power of free will. I am responsible and accountable for everything that I put into the world. That feels so empowering to me!! That means I can choose different ways to be, to think, and to do that will align with what I want to see more of in the world. It all starts with me embracing this AWE-inspiring gift.

I’m never trapped in someone else’s belief systems, only mine. That is why it’s not important to me if people agree or disagree with the way I choose to live, that is their free will. Whatever is true for them is what they base their reality around. If they like the reality they live in, they have the choice to stay there. If they don’t like the reality they are creating for themselves, they can choose another way. It doesn’t have to be the way I choose, that is the beauty of free will. Each of us gets to choose. We choose in each thought, feeling, belief (perspective), action, reaction, and response we give our energy to. My free will is how I can choose to live from a loving place despite every circumstance, trauma, or setback I’ve faced. There are plenty of people who choose to live in their pain, that is their free will. I had that choice too. I keep getting the opportunity to go back to that pain, but I choose not to by allowing myself to live in the way that feels best to me.

Today, I commit to honoring the gift of free will. I CHOOSE, those words put me in a state of AWE. I honor the gift of free will by consciously choosing where I put my energy and how I tell my stories to myself and others. I’m only prisoner of my mind if I choose to tell myself stories that keep me there. I did for a long time. I was miserable for a long time. I can still feel through the hard stuff. I actually use my feelings as beacons to show me where I am. With every passing day, I go deeper into looking at the choices I make that are serving me and the ones that are not. I keep reminding myself of the gift of free will to do things differently, to think differently, to feel differently, and to BE (meant as the state of BEING if you’ve missed previous posts) differently. Here are some of the questions that help me dive into what I’m choosing for myself on a daily basis:

  • How do I choose to live in this moment?
  • How do I choose to think about what I see?
  • How do I choose to respond to life’s curveballs?
  • How do I choose to view my past?
  • How do I choose to view my life?
  • Are my beliefs serving my highest good?
  • Are my thoughts serving my highest good?
  • Are my actions serving my highest good?
  • Am I allowing my feelings to show me where I am?

How I answer these questions allows my feelings to show me where I really am. If I feel empowered by my answers, I know I’m honoring my gift of free will to serve my highest good. If I have other feelings come up, it’s my job to look at those feelings and honor them by seeing why I’m feeling victim of someone or something outside of myself. My feelings give me so much guidance, I just have to trust them enough to allow myself to feel through them to see what is unhealed within me, because that is a feeding ground for the energy of fear, lack, and separation.

I can’t heal my attachments to the energy of fear, lack, and separation if I’m not open to see them fully and clearly. When I need help doing this, I ask for it. It is my free will that gives me the opportunity to see that I’m making choices to be where I am for better or for worse. Whatever I believe is true, I make true in the way I let the beliefs guide me in each moment. If I don’t like the reality I’m creating, only I have the free will over my life to do something about it.

With Love, Abundance, and Peace,
