I’m grateful I learned how to be a giver without being a doormat. I may have had to learn this lesson the hard way, but I’m so grateful that I learned it and that I stay aware of my intentions while I’m doing for others. Developing healthy boundaries was a LONG journey for me, but when I took my power back, I took it back full force. I learned that people can only walk on me when I lie down in front of them and when I’m trying to find worth in my doing for others. I write a lot about this in Letters from a Better Me.
I’m not going to say that with my kids I don’t lie down from time to time, but the difference is that I know it was my choice to lie down. If they are capable of doing something, I don’t have to do it. If I don’t feel comfortable saying yes, it’s my responsibility to say no. I’ve learned through them to extend that to everyone else in my life too. I’m responsible and accountable for my choices. That is how I stay empowered to give from an authentically loving place. When I attach to the feeling of being a doormat, it keeps me in the energy of fear, lack, and separation. In that place, I’m a victim and I have no power. I don’t like that place! I choose to look at it from the perspective of empowerment where it is my CHOICE to give as much or as little as feels right to me. This perspective keeps me aligned with the energy of love, abundance, and peace.

Today, I commit to only giving when giving feels aligned with love, abundance, and peace. If we aren’t giving from a loving place, we are attaching a negative energy to the good we are doing. That doesn’t benefit anyone. I love giving when it feels aligned with love, abundance, and peace. I don’t feel depleted or like a martyr. I’m giving because I can, I want to, and I love doing it. My heart feels full and I feel like I can give even more. It really is a beautiful thing. Today, I will enjoy giving to the ones I love and the strangers who cross my path. I will actually be talking about this subject at 1PM EST today on Facebook Live with Sherry Richert-Belul. I will post the replay tomorrow.

With Love, Abundance, and Peace,
