Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #316

I’m grateful for firsts. Appreciating and being grateful for firsts is something that doesn’t always come easy to me. I love getting the opportunity to see where I am by how I’m reacting to a first. As much as I LOVE adventures, I’m a planner. Sometimes, when things aren’t planned my feelings of anxiety can creep into my thoughts. What I’ve learned to appreciate is seeing how far I’ve come. Just like hiking to this little cubby hole tucked high in the Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona, I had no idea what I was saying yes to when we came to a point in our hike when the group split into the ones who wanted to see an amazing sight and those who were ready to go back. I chose to see this amazing sight. The hike was challenging and a little scary at times, but it was worth it. I’m so grateful that every day I’m blessed to be alive, I get the opportunity to experience firsts.

Today, I commit to enjoying a new experience for the first time. I remember an assignment from my Creative Processes course I took in college. The amazing, Dr. Marta Ockuly, assigned a homework assignment of doing something that we we’ve always wanted to do but have never done. I chose playing guitar. Learning something new in this manner had a profound affect on me. There was no reasons besides excuses of why I never picked it up before. Working through all the excuses and just doing it–WOW! I learned in that course to allow my creative spirit to be free. I’m tapping into that energy today. Today’s mission is to experience something new. It doesn’t have to be big, I just have to be present enough to appreciate it.

Life is filled with new adventures, but we miss them if our head is not where our feet are. Staying present means paying attention. When I pay attention, I’m always amazed in what is presented to me.

With Love, Abundance, and Peace,
