“The love affair you seek is with yourself.”
Alan Cohen
I love this quote because it reminds me of the the choice I made to take the journey of loving myself. It represents one of the most fulfilling adventures I ever decided to take—a love affair with myself. I became everything I wanted in someone else. Only when I could project that energy out was it reflected back to me. The love affair got me to stop chasing other people’s stories of happily ever after and help me make choices to live happily ever now. When I did that, I became responsible and accountable for the love I was showing myself daily. Just like any love story, it’s one that takes daily investment. The more I invest, the better the return.
