Our relationship with time could be a piece of what is holding us back, or setting us free. Once again, it is all about perspectives being our freedom or our prison. When we resist time, we aren’t able to appreciate time.
When we are grateful for the time we have, our memories take on a new energy, history takes on new meaning, and our lives become more meaningful. One of the messages hanging on my wall is, “Faith in God includes faith in his timing.”
When things are uncomfortable, this one can really challenge us. When we are talking about time we have left with a loved one before they pass, time we are in political and social unrest, time we are in an abusive relationship, time we are at war, time we are in crisis…we often will try to resist what the time we are in is trying to show us. But each moment we are in is important!
Each step we take in this life is a part of our journey. Sometimes what we are learning during our darkest times is what fuels our purpose to serve. Sometimes it’s those last moments with someone that allow us to feel the purest form of love. Time is a gift.
When we can remain present to our experiences, we actually get the VALUE of living them. When I find myself being in autopilot, I will do something to shock myself into being present again. Whether it is looking at the clouds, taking conscious breaths, paying attention to nature, playing with my dog, focusing on my kids, etc. I just take action be pay attention to where I am in that exact moment where I lost myself.
My time to create, is the time for my head to wander. That’s when I appreciate my time to explore perspectives in the world and see where those perspectives take me. Others may judge our time, but as my mom says, “It’s none of your business what other people think about you.”
No-one else is walking in our shoes. We get to choose moment to moment how we will experience the time we are given. We are accountable and responsible for how we choose to contribute our time to this life. When we live in gratitude of that, we live an empowered life.
Today is not about focusing on the time we don’t have. Let’s focus on the time we do have. Let’s focus on the time we were gifted by waking up this morning.
- What are we going to do with this gift of time today?
- How are you going to celebrate this moment?
- Are you going to read something that inspires you?
- Will you write a letter to a loved one or stranger?
- Will you exercise?
- Will you talk to someone you love?
- Will you bring your best you to work?
- How will you prepare your food with the time you have?
Whatever you choose to do with your day, appreciate the time you have to do it. Even if what you are doing housework, be grateful that you have the time to do what you are doing. You could also enjoy the day lounging around in pajamas, whatever you do, appreciate being able to do it.
Now, many individuals are in a place of complete stress right now. Many are concerned about the unknown future, but just for today, put your mind where your feet are. We have NO control over all the unknown elements of tomorrow.
What we can do something about only exists in the moment we are in. Fuel that with love, abundance, and peace and we know we will be contributing to positive change in the world. If we choose to embrace it, time allows us to do that. When we stay in our light, we guide others to shine brighter.
Today’s Aligning
Love
Today, I commit to appreciating my time.
Abundance
I’m grateful for time.
What about time makes you grateful? Make sure not to focus on any lack here. If you start thinking in ways of not enough time, or I wish I had time, stop and write down what you are grateful for. This gets your mind thinking creatively without putting the focus on the lack.
Peace
Today, I commit to MAKING time to prioritize my meditation, mindfulness, and/or breathing practice.
By doing this we are giving our time to simply being one with this moment in time.

With Love, Abundance, and Peace,
