Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #288

I’m grateful for the symbolic meaning of butterflies. Butterflies represent transformation for me. When I see a butterfly, I don’t just see their majestic beauty, strength, and grace. I see the journey that butterfly took to get the opportunity to fly.

I came up with the Becoming the Butterfly workshop out of the observations that even butterflies have to move through the muck to get their wings. There is a reason that the butterfly is on the cover of my book. I take readers into getting down and dirty as the caterpillar; sitting in the stillness of the chrysalis; and taking action as the butterfly.

The journey of the butterfly reminds me that I have everything I need to live my best life inside of me. I CAN change, I CAN grow, and I CAN extend my wings. The only thing that is ever holding me back is my own perspective, and that I CAN change.

I’ve also discovered that there are those that steal butterfly wings while claiming to be able to fly. These are just toxic caterpillars. What they have to offer is poison. All butterflies have to take the whole journey in order to get their wings, and so do we! If someone is never willing to sit in the stillness, they will live their lives in the hustle of the caterpillar. I can go on and on about my thoughts on butterflies. That’s probably why I decided to write a book about it.

Today, I commit to embracing the symbolic meaning of the butterfly. I’ve been sitting in the stillness of the chrysalis for some time now. I’m taking in so much by being in this part of my butterfly journey. Much of the work I’m doing is what happens within the chrysalis. The caterpillar becomes mush in the chrysalis. Then puts itself back together in a different and more brilliant way. This is where the struggle of the caterpillar begins to make sense. My journey of Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace has been about putting all the pieces together to make sense. I know there is much more to come, but I’m enjoying this journey EVERY step of the way. I honestly am amazed at how my life has changed since I started writing this series 287 days ago.

Did you read yesterday’s piece? Do you notice the puzzle pieces?

Embracing the symbolic meaning of the butterfly means I’m choosing the embrace the journey of transformation. That is me doing the daily work of whatever part of the journey that I’m in at the moment. Skipping ahead doesn’t work. I have to feel my way through the journey of the caterpillar. I can’t avoid, suppress, or numb that part of the journey. I have to live it to see the gifts it’s offering me. Trying to skip is like embracing toxic positivity. We have to embrace what is there before we are given the next piece. We don’t just get to skip over the journey of chrysalis. This is where all the parts come together in order to fly. Trying to skip a step in my experience ALWAYS brings me back to caterpillar 101 (the beginning).

So for now, I’m embracing being in my chrysalis and putting myself together in a more beautiful and brilliant way. Today, this means:

  • Cleansing my body from toxins that are weighing it down
  • Writing my blog
  • Reading
  • De-cluttering some of my physical spaces
  • Living in the energy of love, abundance, and peace as much as possible
  • Staying present and mindful as I move through the day
