Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #190

I’m grateful for the lessons from the ocean. As I sit on the beach with the sand between my toes, I watch the water move back and forth. I watch the rise and the fall. I think of all the friction that goes on underneath the surface. I think of all the creatures having to adapt to the movements of the ocean. I consider what sea glass has to go through to look as beautiful as it does. I’m in AWE of how an oyster creates it’s pearl. There are long periods of tumbling and scraping against the sand. I smile at the crabs scooting around the shoreline. So much is happening all at once, yet the lifeforms don’t create drama about what is. Adaptation is survival, and the ocean continues to rise and fall and move back and forth. I feel peaceful in the awareness.

Today, I commit to receiving wisdom from the ocean. It’s been awhile since I’ve been barefoot on the beach. When I first moved to the area I’m in now, I was going to school. My daughter’s pre-school was right down the street from the beach. I would drop her off, then go to the beach to write my papers. I had a favorite picnic table that was kind of hidden away from everything else, I would just sit there and write for hours. I would feel the oceans wisdom flowing through me.

Then a few years ago when I got my dog, I started taking her to the dog beach early in the morning. I loved that time of the day there. No matter when I was going, I left feeling at peace. There is something about being there that makes me want to be present. I want to let go of all the worldly chaos and just be. The ocean offers so much wisdom about so many things happening at once, yet still having peace. I feel like every time I go to the beach it has another lesson to teach me. Here’s what I do, I ask the ocean for wisdom, then I slow the chaos in my mind for it to be open enough to hear the answer.

Do you need a beach for this journey of wisdom? NO! There are tons of videos online including documentaries about the oceans of the world. I’ve asked the question then searched YouTube and have been amazed at the answers I’ve found. The reason I’ve spent this last week on BEING, is because without the BEING, we can’t absorb the wisdom. It falls of deaf ears.
