Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #73

I’m grateful that different doesn’t mean bad. I remember years ago reading A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. He told a story in the book about judging things as good or bad, because I remembered being a person who used to ask, “Why do all these bad things keep happening to me?” When I would judge things as bad, I would resist what I could learn. I have a small straw-hole view of the big picture, which is what my friend Sarah taught me. It reminded me to put things into perspective. Who am I to judge something as bad, when I know everything that I’ve went through was important to my journey. This isn’t always easy to hold onto, but it is a perspective of truth that brings me peace.

When I consider the thought that just because things are different, doesn’t mean they are bad, it opens my mind to look into, investigate, ask questions, and try to gain understanding about what I don’t understand. Having a background in cultural anthropology, it reminds me to look deeper. This has got me to look at different religions, cultures, politics, organizations, societies, and so much more. I investigate from the inside/out, not the outside/in. Meaning, I want to hear about people’s beliefs who believe them, not by those who are judging them for their beliefs. I’ve found out so many interesting things this way, and my life has become so much more enriched because of it.

The most important thing I’ve found is to investigate through the compass of love, abundance, and peace and not fear, lack, and separation. When I look through this lens, I see things more clearly, and gain insight. It doesn’t mean I agree with what I learn, but I can see the humans, and I can see that it’s just another perspective. I’m not saying this is always easy, sometimes when I don’t understand how someone else’s mind is working and they are full of fear, lack, and separation, I know that person isn’t the right person to go to and that is okay. I have compassion for the person because I know how dark it gets living in fear, lack, and separation but that is their journey, who am I to judge if what they are going through isn’t necessary for their growth.

Today, I commit to explore possibilities on a topic I don’t understand. This is a great learning experience to look at a topic from a point of view that is not your own. I do this one all the time. 2020 is the year of Facebook Lives and testimonials. What I love about these is you see the human. You get to hear their story. I’ve seen all different kinds of opinions and stances on different topics. Try to look at the people involved with eyes of love, abundance, and peace. See what you can find about the topic, from a point of view that you don’t understand. Look deeper into the topic at the history of it to understand why people believe what they do, and try to connect that to how you feel about something that you believe in.

When we do this little exercise, it helps us to see another person’s humanity and gain a little insight to if what we investigate comes from a place of love, abundance, and peace and just looks different from what we believe, or if it is coming from a place of fear, lack, and separation. You know that this exercise worked if you have a little more compassion for a person/or topic that you are looking into. We can agree to disagree with people without calling names and dehumanizing people we put into categories or groups. When we HATE someone, we are in the energy of fear, lack, and separation and we therefore contribute to the very energy that isn’t serving us or the world. I know it is very important for me to align my energy with love, abundance, and peace even if I don’t understand their point of view at all. In the end, it comes down to what energy I want to contribute to the world, and if it’s love, abundance, and peace. I have to make sure that even when seeking justice is necessary, that I don’t align with the energy of fear, lack, and separation because I will only make the injustice greater.

With Love, Abundance, and Peace,
