I’m grateful for the power of prayer. The power of prayer is about aligning energy. The more people we have aligning with prayers, which is often but not always, aligning with love, abundance, and peace, the more powerful the prayer becomes. Our thoughts turn into prayers, which is where we need to be careful that we are not wishing ill-will on others. This can be challenging in the face of injustice, but when we can remember to align with the energy of love, abundance, and peace, we bring light to the world with our prayers. I’m grateful that no religion, spiritual practice, or group holds claim to prayers. We may all pray differently, but when our energy is aligned with love, abundance, and peace, our prayers become united and are more powerful than any fear, lack, and separation, we as humans tend to create.

Being an American, one of the times I know I need my prayers a lot is during election season. It can be very easy to fall into the energy of fear, lack, and separation. My heart hearts when I hear people calling each other names and dehumanizing people as they judge them according to what they believe politically. I see people’s attachment to fear, lack, and separation blind them to what is right in front of them. I pray a lot during this season. The beautiful thing about prayer, is it has opened me up to find beautiful nuggets of humanity, compassion, and empathy. I hear the messages that speak to my heart, and discern them from the fear and propaganda.

Since I truly allow prayer to open my eyes, I’m grateful I’m led to dig deeper when someone is trying to sell me fear. I’m grateful prayer has led me to say no or yes, when necessary. I’m grateful prayers have closed doors and open others. I’m grateful that my prayers have set me free from taking on what isn’t mine to take on. I’m grateful prayer has led me to the people I’m meant to help and the one’s who are meant to be my helpers. Since, I don’t know the plan of the Universe, prayer helps me to focus on what is mine and what is not. When I align my energy with love, abundance, and peace, I know that whatever happens has a purpose and as long as I stay aligned with the energy of love, abundance, and peace, my soul feels free.

Today, I commit to practicing prayer over engaging in the energy of fear, lack, and separation. We can find love or fear, abundance or lack, and peace or separation in any situation we are faced with. We have the choice how we want to look at things. It’s not always an easy choice, it’s not always a choice that comes natural, but just understanding that there is a different way to look at any situation, can move us in the right direction to being in the energy we want to be in. Prayer is a path we can use to align us with love, abundance, and peace over fear, lack, and separation. It is away to find comfort in what is uncomfortable. When I fear, I pray. My prayer wraps my fears with love. My prayer wraps my anger and frustration in love, and with that, I find peace. I prayed about what I could do to help people in these challenging times and more opportunities to do just that keep showing up. The power of prayer is amazing and today, I will embrace it fully.
