Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #131

I’m grateful for the way my body feels when I stretch. Months ago, my friend introduced me to this amazing stretching program on PBS called Classical Stretch: By Essentrics (also available on YouTube). The woman who leads the workout is Miranda Esmonde-White, and she is 71 years old. I fell in 100% love with this program even more than I love yoga. My body loves this program too. It’s a 20-minute stretching and strengthening workout. After a few months, my body felt better than it ever had before! I was in better shape than I’ve ever been. So naturally, when things got busy, I broke the habit. Slowly, my body went back to feeling like it used to before doing these daily stretches, but this time I felt it so much worse. The other day I turned the program on again and with each stretch, my body remembered how much we love the way this feels.

Here’s the thing, not only did my body feel physically feel better when I was doing this everyday. My mind felt calmer. I felt more centered and focused. I really didn’t know all the amazing effects of doing this daily until I stopped doing it daily. Stopping actually gave me a greater appreciation for how much I love what stretching does for me. I don’t always learn the easy way, but this was a very good lesson for me. If we want to align with love, abundance, and peace, our bodies, minds, and souls need to be aligned too. It is all a part of the whole.

Today, I commit to spending 20 minutes stretching. I plan on getting back into the routine of doing the Classical Stretch workout daily, because I love the way it makes my body feel. This is a stretching program that gives me great results without any pain. I feel energized and ready to take on the day when I stretch daily. I don’t know about any of you, but I’ve done plenty of exercise programs that I not only didn’t like, but I felt like I had to do them as punishment for not looking how I thought I should look. This stretching makes me feel good about myself, because of how good my body feels when I’m doing it. I’m not really sure how I let it slip out of my daily routine, but maybe it was so I could see how much I would miss the feeling when it was gone. I’ve definitely never felt that way before! Everyone I’ve recommended this program to has loved it too. I’m so grateful to my soul sister, Tina for introducing me to the program that final got me to love and feel the power of stretching.
