“Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.”
Jonathan Lockwood Huie
I never knew how much holding onto resentment affected my inner peace until I started diving into my inner work. As long as I held onto my resentments towards myself or others, I projected chaos. When I started doing forgiveness work by writing letters, burning them, and then handing them over to God, I felt free. This didn’t mean that I didn’t shut plenty of doors, I did. I just no longer shut the door to my heart because of other people’s choices. I also stopped beating myself up over my own learning experiences. It is just as important to forgive myself as it is for me to forgive others if I want to maintain my peace.
