Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #356

I’m grateful for the process. I used to dread the future, but now I love watching how it all unfolds. I’ve learned to follow my inner callings and trust that there is a reason I am where I am at every moment, even when I find myself binge watching a show. There is something I get from watching the relationships playing out in front of me. If I wasn’t meant to watch what I did, I wouldn’t have seen it. Just like if I am meant to read a book, I will. If I’m not meant to read it, I won’t. If something or someone is meant to be a part of my path, I will experience whatever life presents to me—even if at the time I don’t understand why. Living in the process is about being engaged in the journey instead of focused on the destination.

There are so many amazing discoveries and insights that are revealed. What I’ve realized is that we are not powerless on this road. We are making choices all along the way that create the opportunities that are ahead and it all depends on where our energy is aligned to how these opportunities will reveal themselves.

I used to believe the lessons had to cause me great pain in order for me to absorb them, but then I discovered that wasn’t true. It depended on if my energy was aligned with love, abundance, and peace or fear, lack, and separation. When I began paying close attention to the process, I saw how amazing it is to choose differently in a moment and watch how things changed. When I’m aligned with the energy of love, abundance, the process reflects the energy.

Seeing all this didn’t happen overnight and it doesn’t mean that I don’t lose myself from time to time in the energy of fear, lack, and separation. It just happens less and for shorter periods of time when it does. The one thing that used to trip me up is the labels. When I gave myself a label or someone else gave me a label, I would often try to live up to what my or what I thought society defined the label as. When that happened, my process became about how to make others happy out of fear, lack, and separation. I started becoming aware of the process, the the tools to make things better started presenting themselves to me along the way. I’m grateful for seeing both my healthy and unhealthy processes, because only when I understand how the process works, do I know what to do to make them better.

Today, I commit to engaging in the process. All it takes to engage in the process is to consciously watch where I am and what I am doing throughout the day. Awareness is my survival tool. If I watch my process and I don’t like the results I’m getting, I can make different choices and observe the difference in the way I feel, think, and act. I can also observe the differences of how people reflect back to me what I put out. If I want to change what is reflected back to me, I have to change what I’m thinking and doing, my feelings change with whatever energy I’m aligning to either love, abundance, and peace or fear, lack, and separation.

When I find joy in the process, I become a beacon of joy. I lead joy to me. When I find misery in the process, I become a beacon of misery. I lead misery to me. Hmmmm…which will I choose? When I engage and stay aware, I give myself the access to choose differently in a moment. If I’m not engaged, I can easily put energy where I don’t want it to go. I really try to avoid doing that.Throughout the day, I’m going to be the observer of the process step by step, choice by choice.

  • Where are my thoughts, beliefs, and actions taking me in this moment?
  • What am I creating in this moment?
  • How is my energy aligning with what I want reflected back to me?
  • Who is in my life and what are they mirroring back to me right now?
  • Is there anything I want to do differently in the next moment?

Sometimes what we need to see in the process is scary, ugly, informative, beautiful, magical, etc. Just because we experience something that is challenging doesn’t mean that experience isn’t for our highest good. I’ve experienced and seen some very scary things in my life, but what is amazing now is that I’m seeing how they were all a part of the creative process of my journey. I look back in AWE of how some of these pieces are coming together now. I’m finding more and more gifts each step of the way.

If you are reading this post, it’s a part of your process. If you think a friend of yours should read this post and they don’t, it’s because it’s not a part of their process. The experiences we are meant to have on our journeys will happen. That’s part of the reason I don’t feel tied to who reads what I write and who doesn’t. I know whoever is meant to read it will, and whoever isn’t won’t. It’s just that simple. I don’t know what others will have to go through to get to a place where they feel aligned with love, abundance, and peace. Some will CHOOSE to stay in the energy of fear, lack, and separation, but that is their choice, their process to be accountable and responsible for.

The only person’s process I’m accountable and responsible for is my own. It’s my job to create the life that is best for me. My focus is on serving the highest good and my process reveals to me how I can do that step by step.

Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #343

I’m grateful for waking up creatively. Life is a creative process. My free will is expressed creatively in the choices I make moment to moment. How I pick my clothes, organize my belongings, and plan my day is a creative process. I can choose to make things tangible or intangible, but both are my creations. Every story playing in my head is my creation. Waking up creatively gave me the power to create things consciously that I actually WANT in my life instead of creating endless chaos internally and externally. This is why creativity is one of the areas of wellness. What I create effects my overall health.

I’m the creator of my reality. This doesn’t mean I have control over anything that happens around me, but I choose to create my internal world to respond/react to what I’m seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, tasting, and feeling. I create the story in my mind that aligns me with the energy to create more peace or more chaos. I love just writing these words.

Writing daily means I’m fully engaging with conscious creating. Doing this helps me to remember everything else I’m creating with my thoughts, beliefs, and actions throughout the day. Keeping my creative brain consciously engaged helps me to stay awake!

There are so many forms of creative process that help people along on their journeys. I’ve discovered it’s important to listen to which ones call to me. This doesn’t mean I won’t try what works for someone else. I’ve often found by trying what works for someone else, I carry at least a piece of something that works for me, but I don’t judge one way as right and the other as wrong. I know I have to listen to my own voice on what feels right for me. Listening to what creative processes works for others actually help me strengthen my commitment to mine. I pay close to where my energy is aligned and where my passion takes me in the creative process.

I know my creativity leads me to my highest good when my energy is aligned with love, abundance, and peace. That is why I’ve committed to this journey of aligning my energy daily. I love what I put out into the world. That being said, I also find it extremely helpful to create something physical in art or movement form when I’m aligned with the energy of fear, lack, and separation. Creating something like a drawing, poem, or dance helps me to get the energy out of my body and release it. It also helps me from taking my stuff out sideways on someone else.

Today, I commit to igniting my creativity. I know I’m always creating, but making this commitment helps me do it consciously. It doesn’t matter what energy I’m aligned with or what I’m feeling. Consciously igniting my creativity in healthy ways helps me to move my energy into consciously creating my reality moment to moment.

I know how dangerous it is to create unconsciously, I did that for decades!! Once I can gage where my energy is, I will do what I need to do to move and shift it into a place where I want to consciously create from. If I need help, I can pull from other areas of my wellness. Feel free to go back and explore the last few days where I’ve been breaking wellness down piece by piece. I will also be continuing to cover the areas of spiritual, intellectual, environmental, occupational, and financial in the days to come. Each piece works together to create the whole picture. Seeing the individual pieces helps me pay attention to where my strengths are and what areas need work.

As I move into the other areas of wellness, I wanted to remind myself of my part in what I’m creating for myself and for others. I want to ignite my creativity in a way that I enjoy and connect to the process of creating:

  • What am I energetically creating out in the world?
  • What are my words creating out in the world?
  • What are my actions creating out in the world?
  • Am I serving the highest good by what I’m choosing to create?

Today’s mantra: I’m responsible and accountable for what I create with my energy, words, and actions.

Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #337

I’m grateful for how creative ideas reveal themselves. I absolutely love the creative process. Much of my process involves Divine inspiration, which often leaves me in a state of AWE as the pieces are revealed to me. Writing this series has led to many AWE-filled moments as topics flow out of me so naturally then amazingly align as each piece fits together in this amazing puzzle. Even coming up with the idea to write this series was an amazing journey. I actually had to fall into my darkness in order to ignite the light inside of me.

I also love listening to people’s stories on how their creative ideas revealed themselves too. It can be an de-cluttering project, time management, homemade gift, vision board, book, blog, movie, painting, dance, meditation, art, life experience, the list goes on and on. Creative ideas in life have NO limits! Life is a creative process. I love watching how people’s perspectives on life create their realities. Every thought we have is creating something. The beauty for me is learning to consciously understand how these creative ideas manifest into reality.

Today, I commit to honoring my creative visions. Looking back, I’m in complete AWE of how my creative visions have unfolded in my life. Not all of them were pleasant experiences, but each of them were necessary for pieces to an ever revealing puzzle. If I look at one piece of the puzzle separate from the whole, I may not understand why the puzzle piece is so dark, but once the picture all comes together and I place the piece in the right spot on the puzzle, it all makes sense. I see creative ideas as developing the image on puzzle piece and then the manifesting of that idea into reality is the puzzle piece itself. How I choose to look at the puzzle pieces determines how they fit into the puzzle. Just this, what I’m writing right now is all being revealed to me…I just LOVE how these creative visions unfold!

I’ve made my life an incredible journey through honoring my creative visions. What I’ve discovered is I’m the ONLY one that limits how I create. Not all the pieces to my puzzle contain light. There are times I’ve felt lost in the darkness looking for my path out of the endless pit I kept dropping further into. It was my creative visions that took me into the pit and brought me out of it. Understanding this is what empowers me to make my creative visions work for me instead of against me.

Creative ideas are revealed from the energy of love, abundance, and peace or fear, lack, and separation depending on where I am at the moment. When I was writing my book, I had to consciously tap into the energy of fear, lack, and separation to write Part I. It was the most challenging but necessary parts of the book to write, because my past experience told me when I don’t go there, I miss a HUGE piece of the transformative process and I didn’t want my readers to miss the most revealing piece to how we create our realities from those dark places. Seeing life as a creative process helps me honor those dark pieces I’ve created just as much as the ones that hold the light, because it was in those dark places that immense sparks were ignited to set my soul on fire in the most amazing ways, like the phoenix rising from the ashes.

I’m honoring my creative visions today by being grateful for EVERYTHING I’ve created in my life. The more I harness this, the more conscious I become of what I’m creating in real time. I’m more discerning of the ideas that are being revealed. Pulling those creative ideas from darkness can create amazing works of art. Just think about books, movies, lifestyle changes, etc. that have all come from choosing a creative idea to run with. When I consciously can create from the dark, I manifest a beautiful light as an end result. It’s only when I’m unconscious of what I’m creating that I get lost in the dark and fall back into that pit.

Just seeing what came out of me in the process of writing this piece puts me in AWE of this incredible journey. When I wrote this topic down a week ago, I had NO IDEA what would be revealed to me when I sat down to write this. At the time, I didn’t have the experiences I needed to see it all.

I’m grateful for outcomes of creativity aligned with love, abundance, and peace. I love when I feel joy, peace, love, excitement, pleasure, hope, compassion and/or faith from the outcomes of others and my own creativity. Even if I’m feeling this from cleaning out and organizing a drawer, I just absolutely love the feeling! When I look at the sculpture below, I feel an instant calm. The outcome of this artist’s creativity makes me want to take a deep cleansing breath. I love that by reading people’s creative work, I can feel inspired to be the best version of myself. I love how when teachers are aligned with the energy of love, abundance, and peace students feel inspired to learn. I love when I come up with an adventure for my kids and the outcome of my creative planning comes with deeper connections. Just focusing my energy on this puts me in an instantly good mood.

Today, I commit to enjoying the outcomes of my creative processes. Everybody is constantly creating whether they know it or not, which I talked about yesterday. Today, my focus is going to be on the outcomes of my creative processes. One of the many wonderful outcomes of writing this series is the amazing new connections I’m making with the people who are are reading it daily and reaching out to me. I love how my writing space has turned into a inspiration zone with my bookcase, books, inspirational sayings, collages, artwork, and so much more. Every single direction I look is filled with inspiration that I pull from. I absolutely love the outcome of that creative process. I also enjoy the outcomes of writing my book. I love all the connections, interviews, podcasts, and speaking events that came from me doing what I love to do.

In the image below, you will see a box I made for myself in the creative process course I mentioned yesterday. I put my dream of writing a book and becoming an transformational speaker into this box. Both have come true. When I invest my energy of love, abundance, and peace into a creative process, I get rewarded with matching energy. I make the connections and attract opportunities to do more of what I love.

This is a powerful exercise— write down positive outcomes from your creative processes that came from aligning your energy with love, abundance, and peace. Just putting your focus here has the power to create a shift in your energy to move you in a better and more expansive direction. Really put your energy into it and see what happens.

Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #279

“Creativity is the person-centered process of imagining possibilities and taking embodied expressive action to make your ideas real.”

-Marta Davidovich Ockuly, PhD, 2019

I’m grateful for creativity. Before I fully understood what creativity means, I used to be intimidated by it. I, like many, would say things like, “I’m not creative.” I’m cracking up thinking about it, because EVERYONE is creative. Creativity is apart of living. I’m creating every day. Now, I’m just conscious of it. I love how I get the spark, which flows into inspiration and ignites my creativity. Once my creative mind is going, that’s when the real magic happens.

I once took a course on the creative process. It was led by Dr. Marta Davidovich Ockuly. She woke me up to the power of my creativity. Much of the work I do now was inspired by what her course revealed to me. Much of my writing today was from a spark that was lit in her classroom. Her lessons definitely were puzzle pieces that fit perfectly into my life puzzle.

A word brought to the forefront in 2020 was pivot. Learning to pivot is all about using creativity. I’ve seen some of the most amazing pivots happen since the pandemic began. I’ve seen the the world get so much smaller as the doors to virtual connecting blew wide open. So many people that were once left behind because they couldn’t get to a place, now just had to have internet. I’m blown away at all the creative ways people have found success, health, happiness, connection, etc. I’ve felt so inspired by the creativity of people. I’m tearing up thinking of the creativity of parents and teachers to help kids adjust to a new reality. There are so many ways that the pandemic ended up being the spark to new discoveries.

Now, just like anything else, where my energy is aimed affects how I will create. Aligned with the energy of love, abundance, and peace, my creativity flows in the best of ways. Aligned with the energy of fear, lack, and separation, I will try to endlessly fit puzzle pieces that don’t fit into my life’s puzzle only creating chaos, confusion, frustration, and overall dis-ease with life. When I’m in that horrible creative pattern, I don’t even realize that I’m the one creating the chaos.

The best thing I can do for myself and for anyone else is to align with the energy of love, abundance, and peace and set my creative energy FREE to make magic!

Today, I commit to aligning my creativity with the energy of love, abundance, and peace. I absolutely LOVE this creative process. When my energy is aligned with love, abundance, and peace, I feel expansive inside and out. My passion gives me all the energy I need to create. When I’m in the energy of love, abundance, and piece, I don’t put limits on what I can and will create. This is where the magic comes in. Only the energy of fear, lack, and separation can limit the creative process to feed a endless cycle of chaos. The key is to know where my energy is before I start creating.

There are a few techniques I use to help me to stay aligned with the energy of love, abundance, and peace while creating. These techniques are explained in more detail in my book and throughout the blog:

  • Setting an intention for my creativity helps me to stay aligned with energy I want to be creating in. This is one of the reason I say it’s so important to be clear about what I actually want.
  • Creating a mission statement helps me to make sure that I’m staying aligned with the bigger vision.
  • Taking nature pictures gets me to focus in on what’s beautiful in the world.
  • Watching the clouds.
  • Reading or listening to books that are aligned with the energy of love, abundance, and peace.
  • Writing a gratitude list
  • Watching a fire (controlled, of course)

Creativity is not just for artists. We are creative when we clean, organize, problem-solve, fill the dishwasher, do business, serve customers, teach others, dance, move, stretch, etc. I use my creativity when I’m feeding myself stories, for better or for worse. I’m creative when I parent. Creativity is something we are using consciously or unconsciously EVERY day. I just decided to create consciously. We each get to make that choice for ourselves. It’s happening either way.

Creating Collages for Practicing Presence and Building Self-Worth

Creative practices and hobbies are wonderful tools for our personal well-being. We gain so much by slowing down and putting our focus on a creative project. Activating that part of our brain helps us in a myriad ways. The focus of this piece is on practicing presence and building self-worth through creating collages. This is where the journey took me.

When I was going through a very dark time, I found my way to a 12-Step group called AL-ANON. The program is for families and loved ones of alcoholics. It was in this group I found me. I stopped focusing my energy on people and things I couldn’t control and started to focus on what I could change and improve—me. One of the tools I heard mentioned multiple times was making a God Box. This suggestion brought back horrible memories for me because I remember having one in high school and thinking God hated me because the pain kept coming. I knew I needed something, so I got a container and started covering it with everything I wanted for myself inside and out.

In the midst of creating the project I cut out the words “God can”. In that moment, I felt connected…What I can’t do for myself, God can. For some reason working on the container and seeing the life I was looking to create for myself both inward and outward connected me. I was present. I enjoyed placing each piece of paper on that can. Each one just seemed to have the perfect spot. As the project went on I felt even clearer headed. I thought, here is what I want. I’m going to write God letters on anything that is creating difficulty in making what is on and in this container come true for me. Creating the can, I was present. Looking at the can, I am present. Writing the letters, I’m present. In that presence I find the best solutions. I’ve been given so many amazing gifts from engaging in my creativity making my God Can.

On a side note: I will tell you right now, I don’t judge anyone for what they believe. I believe our spirituality is a personal relationship and how we connect is an inner calling only we can hear. Books, people, animals, and nature can help us feel that inner call, but it is up to us individually to make the connection that feels sacred to us.

Through the years I’ve created presents for friends, which once again connect me to the best parts how I see others and how I see myself. Finding each word to describe my loved ones, along with each saying and/or phrase that felt true, connected me to this amazing energy of peace and joy. These feelings only exist in the present moment. One of my favorite sayings I learned in AL-ANON was, “If you spot it, you got it.” Now, I’ve heard that before, but I never thought it was true for the good stuff because I had a horrible sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and self-image. It was making these types of gifts for my friends and realizing, this is true for me too, that helped me build up my sense of self. I began to see that through my perception of them, I could see me.

In my late thirties, I went to college to get my degree in Human Development. I took an amazing course on the creative process by professor Marta Ockuly. For one of the projects I created a hope chest. I went through dozens of magazines in a complete Zen-like process finding empowering words, phrases, and sayings. I read countless inspiring quotes from old Louise Hay calendars. I was in search for all the good I could find. By putting my focus in this energy, amazing ideas kept popping into my head. The creative process brought out my best qualities. I was happy taking this time to focuse on this image of hope I was creating. I felt connected to each piece of paper I place on the wood. I felt peace as I brushed the on the coating creating a finishing shine. My hope chest is now filled with my dreams and goals.

The latest collage was my inspiration board for 2018 (Check out the story of my inspiration board here).  My goal was to create something for my desk where I wrote everyday. I’ve learned the importance of staying present and mindful. I’ve taken away so much of my stress, worry, and anxiety by simply staying in the moment. I’m still not perfect, but as always, I’m a work in progress. Making the board helped me focus without getting overwhelmed or filling myself with fear of an unknown future. It didn’t put pressure on me to make an endless amount of resolutions that I wouldn’t follow through on. Having the board in front of me helps me keep my head where I want it to be. My inspiration board reminds me of what I stand for and the person I am. In times of darkness, it keeps me from putting my energy into the fear, hate, rage, and anger. Each time I look at my board, even right now, I get to see the love that is inside me, because I created this board of hope. I found these words. I connected to poetry, quotes, and saying. This board is what is inside of me.

My journey through my collages shows my dedication to being the best version of me. Focusing on me in this way didn’t make me selfish. It made me into a woman who has self-respect, self-worth, self-esteem, and a positive self-image. I love sharing and giving to others, because I know what I give is from an authentic place of love. I am able to pay my mistakes of my past forward by assisting others in seeing their own value. I love what my collages have brought out in me.

I hope this will inspire you to get out your magazines, print out some pictures, find your favorite memes, and create the best vision of you that you can imagine. I would love to see what you create. Share with me on From A Loving Place.

With Love and Gratitude,
