Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace #47

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today, I’m grateful for the people who rise above the hate. It’s the people who rise above the hate during our dark days of humanity that inspire the world to shift in a positive direction. We have to shift ourselves away from the energy that keeps us in the cycle on of fear, lack, and separation, which is HATE. When we can rise above that by seeing that it is a choice to accept it or not to, we empower ourselves to shift our energy to love, abundance, and peace. EVERY TIME I watch someone who does this, I feel empowered to do the same. My energy is aligned with their message because love, abundance, and peace is at the core of compassion. Seeing it in the actions of others is such a beautiful blessing.

Today, I’m focusing my attention on the people in my life who rise above the hate. These are people who will not engage in the hate of others because of race, gender identity, political status, religious beliefs, economic status, criminal records, etc. These people don’t hate the people who hate. In their minds, their is no justification for hate.

Do you have people in your life that are the examples of this? Have you read stories of people who were like this? I know I have, and the more I focus my attention on it, the more I see. It reminds me of another great role model from my childhood, Fred Rogers. When we look to the people who are helping (serving from a loving place), it helps us connect to the hope, compassion, love, and kindness within ourselves and in the world.

When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’

Fred Rogers a.k.a. Mr. Rogers

Today, I commit to rise above the hate. Anytime I feel myself beginning to slip, I will “look for the helpers.” I will focus my energy on the ones who had the strength before me to rise above it. The people that despite the hate that confronts them, rose above it. I commit to feeding the energy of love, abundance, and peace within me. The more light I shine from within, the more it will be seen in the world to be that example for the next person. Even in the time it took me to write these words, more and more people who rise above the hate keep coming to mind as far back as the first stories I remember hearing about Jesus. He was my first example of a human choosing to rise above the hate. I also think of women like Maya Angelou whose voice rings in my ears reminding me to rise. Today, let’s rise by taking strength away from the energy of fear, lack, and separation and giving it to the energy of love, abundance, and peace.

“Let no man pull you low enough to hate him.”
