NEW BOOK: TENDING YOUR INNER GARDEN

In one month my new book, Tending Your Inner Garden: How to Weed Out Fear, Lack, and Separation and Cultivate Love, Abundance, and Peace enters the world. I couldn’t be more excited for this book to come to life. It has been a long time coming.

If you are a From A Loving Place follower, you may remember I wrote a series on my blog called, “Daily Aligning with Love, Abundance, and Peace” that I started during the pandemic. I spent a year writing every day. After that year was up, I felt myself beginning to slip back as my daughter began suffering through a mental and physical health crisis. That’s when I knew I needed to find ways to help myself get back to the energy faster.

What’s interesting is in late 2019, before my first book, Letters from A Better Me: How Becoming an Empowered Woman Transforms the World came out, I spoke at an event where I had just started developing the garden analogy. It was all because someone said to me, “I planted a seed” and they were referring to someone else’s inner garden. Though I wished sometimes that could be true, other times, I’m very happy it’s not. We can’t plant seeds in other people’s gardens. We can give them seeds. In the end, it’s their decision whether they want to plant them or not. Even if someone does decide to plant them, they can weed them out if it doesn’t work in their gardens. I played around with different names, like garden of the soul, but in the end it doesn’t matter what people call it, our gardens are ours to tend. That idea is what empowers me.

After Letters from A Better Me was released, I wrote a piece about the inner garden for podcaster/ author. She told me that’s what my next book needed to be. She gave me the seed, I held it for awhile while I worked on keeping myself grounded in the chaos of the pandemic and began writing my daily blog series. That’s when I planted the seed and every day I wrote, I saw the book coming to life.

The first draft of the book was complete in 2022, but because my first book didn’t do so great, no publisher wanted to bite. They loved the concept and really hoped it would find a home, but nobody was willing to take a chance. At this time, I started my Seeds of Wisdom series. It was all a part of the inner garden concept.

I’m not going to lie, I was heartbroken. Writing this book was my soul calling. I knew it was meant to be out in the world, but I had no idea how. I also didn’t have the energy while I was trying to navigate my daughter’s health crisis.

In 2024, my daughter and I final figured out a huge piece of the puzzle. She was diagnosed with a eating disorder called Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). This isn’t like other eating disorders I had heard of, and many primary care doctors hadn’t even heard of it, yet it was taking my daughter down. We got her into treatment and with a lot of help from the community we stayed over in West Palm Beach a couple nights a week for her to get the best care possible. It was during that time Brenda Knight would give me the best news. Mango Publishing was going to publish Tending Your Inner Garden!

The timing was perfect, or one can say DIVINE. I was attending parenting groups through the treatment center and sharing the tools I wrote about in the book, and the other parents were grateful. I knew I needed to get this book out there even if it was just for other parents going through caretaking a loved one. I was grateful it wasn’t released after I first wrote it because I added so much more after going through the years of struggle with my daughter.

The book was slated to come out in 2025. That was going to be a fast turnaround, but things started getting really weird at the publishing house and the next thing I knew my editor was gone. She was the champion for not just my book but me. I had no idea what would happen. The book’s release date was pushed back. Then, Brenda Knight and her new professional partner Duncan MacLeod created Books That Save Lives Publishing. In a deal with Mango Publishing, she acquired my book. A short time later Mango Publishing went out of business. She saved my book.

The blessing of going with this new publisher is that they fully align with my brand. I know that whatever they publish will have heart. I love that!

We’ve had some obstacles, but Tending Your Inner Garden is coming out April 14, 2026. I’m so excited and that’s why with this book I’m offering a beautiful PDF, Cultivating Seeds of Love, Abundance, and Peace 35-Day Journal for anyone who pre-orders the book or attends one of the events either live or virtually. If you pre-order the book, you just need to take a screenshot of the receipt and email to me at rachael@fromalovingplace.com, and I will send you your journal. You will also have the opportunity to attend a 10-Week Virtual Book Study beginning Sunday, June 7, 2026. Space for that is limited, so as soon as registration opens, you will want to get your space.

I’m adding the schedule of both live and virtual events coming up. Make sure you register on the event site if you want to attend either of the book launch events.
