Day 64: Actively Connecting with Source

Dear Source,

I’m committed to my relationship with you. Therefore, I know it’s my responsibility to do the work to maintain my end of our relationship. I can’t expect you to do for me what I’m not doing for myself. I won’t even recognize your love if I’m not honoring your love that runs through me.

I feel connected with you most when my soul is at peace. When I’m operating from a place of lack, I feel desperate and am not truly connected to your love. When I trust and have faith, I’m connecting with you on a level that helps to brighten the light inside of me.

The brighter my light shines, the more connected I feel. I know the more I do to actively connect with you, the more my dimmer switch will be turned up. The closer I am to you, the more I feel you within me and the world around me. I trust my faith when I actively connect to your love.

The more love I have in my heart, the more I have to give to the world. I feel blessed to be able to connect to you through my acts of service. I find inspiration in your love that places words on the paper in front of me. I know your love is speaking through me when I don’t have to stop and think. The words just flow out of me and ignite my soul.

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful for my connection with God.
  2. I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow closer the more effort I put into the relationship.
  3. I’m grateful to have the tools to brighten my light.
  4. I’m grateful to See Source in art, music, nature, people, words, prayers, meditation, and all acts of love.
  5. I’m grateful for perspective to keep my mind open and fresh with new ways to connect.

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me

Day 63: Benefits of Practicing Mindfulness in My Life

Dear Self,

Today, I spent my conscious moments being where my feet are. I was amazed in how much more productive I was throughout my day. My mind felt clear and unobstructed by all the clutter. I handled each task as it came into my life, and didn’t feel the need to put my energy where it didn’t belong.

I noticed more of good stuff in and around my life. I paid attention to the beauty in nature, the kindness of strangers, the blessing of having my limbs, the passion for my work, and the love from the people and animals in my home. I just had to slow down enough to appreciate it all.

Since I can be a pretty reactive person, being able to slow down helped me to take that breath before I responded to a stressful moment. I could finally hear the question—How important is it?If my response isn’t bringing peace into the situation, I haven’t worked through it yet, and I need to give myself the space to find my peace before responding. I’ve waited through so much chaos and conflict to get to the point that told me that silence was the right reaction in this moment. All because I’ve slowed my mind down enough to pay attention to what my body and emotions were doing before I reacted unconsciously. I know that the more I practice my mindfulness, the more often this will happen.

I’m committed to practicing mindfulness in all my daily routines. The more I can get out of autopilot, the more life I get to actively live. I will live as many moments as I can to enjoy the life I’ve been given. I want to fully appreciate the people, animals, adventures, nature, showers, warm air, cool air, rain, and luxuries that I’ve been blessed with along with my full use of my senses. Life is too short to be living it in fast-forward.

Mindfulness practices are my loving action towards peace inside and outside of me. I know how much peace I want by my willingness to MAKE time to be mindful.

Today I’m Grateful

I’m grateful that my mindfulness practices helped me to manage my inner peace enough to bring me outer peace.

I’m grateful for the blessing that come from staying in the present moment.

I’m grateful for the sound trees make when the breeze hits the leaves.

I’m grateful for the taste of chocolate as it softens and melts in my mouth.

I’m grateful for my ability to touch, taste, smell, hear, and see, because there are so many incredible gifts that come with each sense.

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me

Day 62: I’m MAKING the Time to CREATE the Life I WANT Today!

Dear Universe,

I’m making the time to create the life I want today. I trust you Universe to provide the space to help me take care of my energy and give me the time to do the things I need to do in order to work on me. I will commit specific times to do something to contribute to practices that will help me keep my energy in the best place possible. I will trust that if I need more time than what I’m giving myself that you will create the space for me.

I know that I can make the most of each moment I have or use up my energy complaining about not having time. That moment is time I have to do something different. I can choose to be grateful in that moment in time instead of being in a place of lack of time. I’m making more space as my mind is open to be creative with the energy I’m putting out there.

I’m choosing to the twists and turns of life as opportunities for me to commit my time to making the most out of the moment by seeing what I can learn and how I can grow. I’m making the time to create the life I want. Even right now, I’m choosing to write this letter to help me stay in the space of my growth and expansion. I could be choosing to watch TV or be on social media, but in this moment, this is what I made the time to do. I feel great about my decision.

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful for the miracle of space and time.
  2. I’m grateful for the choices I can make to give me more time.
  3. I’m grateful to the Universe that helps find me the time I need.
  4. I’m grateful to my perspectives of truth for allowing me to grow and expand.
  5. I’m grateful for the people who are brought into my life who inspire me to live my best life.

With Love and Gratitude,

Day 61: I’m Ready to Rebuild My Life

Dear Self,

The time is now and I’m ready to take my journey a step further and start living it. I’m committing to do the work that it will take to rebuild my life from the place I am now. I’m ready to commit to the work it will take to get me live this journey with love, gratitude, hope and faith. I know that every step I take is an important step on this journey and I don’t want to miss it.

I’m choosing to work smart. I need to be conscious of my priorities so that I may honor them and shift them as necessary to live the life of my choosing. I’M CHOOSING! I’m responsible for the energy I put into my journey. I’m not going to blame anybody else for the energy I’m putting into it. I can choose to let fear-based energy grow and fester, or I can choose to release it and replace it with the energy I want to be going into this day, this moment. I know the energy I choose right now will affect how the lessons on my journey play out. I’m committed to choosing wisely.

I know in order to choose wisely, I have to do the work to maintain this new way of looking at life. I have to make I engage in regular practices using the new thought processes. Otherwise those fear-based ones will creep back in. I’m ready!

I’m committing to be more loving, compassionate and empathetic to myself as I transition out of fear-based actions. I will simply do the best I can and learn from the times that I choose fear over love. There will be no more creating of toxic muck by contributing to self-abuse. I’m ready to transform my life by making the choice to live it!

Let the work begin!

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful for my right to choose my energy that I’m letting lead me
  2. I’m grateful for the ability shift from moment to moment .
  3. I’m grateful for making the choice to invest time into the work I need to do in order for my life to be better.
  4. I’m grateful for this journey with all it’s growing and learning.
  5. I’m grateful to feel ready to live my life from a loving place.

Day 60: Right Here and Now I’m Free

Dear Self,

Right in this moment I’m feeling my toes tingle under the wind from the fan above me. I’m hearing the roar of the air coming on and the coolness touch my toes. My thoughts are with my fingers as the words are coming out on the page. Right hear and now I’m free. My mind is a blanket canvas to create whatever reality I choose with each story I decide to believe and follow. I can choose to be conscious and or unconscious with each thought and step I take. I can choose to put my feelings about my spirituality in a container, or I can be in awe of how expansive Divine energy is. I can choose to see each moment as a loving gift from my Creator or a hell on Earth. I’m FREE to choose whatever perspective of truth I want to believe in this very moment and whatever I choose will move me to the actions that go with that.

Right here and now I’m free to be silent, pray, listen, receive, give, and to move in a way that will contribute to the way I tell myself is right for the moment. I’m responsible for the choices I make. The more I listen to the moment, the clearer of an understanding I get for what I need to step into my next moment. Thinking about this process in slow motion is pretty amazing. Right here and now I’m free and I have an abundance of choices, but the choices aren’t overwhelming, because I have peace knowing I’m free.

I still feel my toes tingling. I’m conscious of the noises that are coming from tapping the keys on the keyboard. I feel my dog’s presence up against the side of my leg as she peacefully sleeps. The words are coming out of me as I hear them and I can hear no background clutter in my mind at this very moment. I can feel the sensations in my nose as oxygen comes into my body. I can feel the moisture on the tips of my fingers as they move across the keys. In this moment I feel AWE of all I’m experiencing without the distractions and clutter that come with the stories of the past and the future. I’m free.

Today I’m grateful

  1. I’m so grateful to experience this present moment
  2. I’m grateful for the freedom to choose where my mind goes in this moment
  3. I’m grateful to be free of story in this moment
  4. I’m grateful for all the sensations I can feel to keep me in this moment
  5. I’m grateful for the feeling of AWE that brings tears to my eyes and fills my soul with love

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me

Side note: I’ve chosen to not edit this letter because I want it to be authentic to the moment I was in writing it. When we write letters to ourselves they don’t have to be perfect. My letter writing in this series is to allow you to see vulnerable parts of me. How you judge them reflects your perspectives of truth inside of you. Be present to what goes through you. Our responses to other’s vulnerability have so much to teach us about where we are in the moment whether it is in love or fear-based thinking. It also helps us to see where we do and don’t want to be. When we consciously see that, we can choose our next step wisely.

Day 59: Attracting the Energy of Love to My Life

Dear Universe,

I’m in awe of how attracting the energy of love to my life works. It doesn’t matter how many times I see it or in what capacity; the feelings that come over me as I  watch my self-love project out of me, manifest more things to love,  and then watch how people and things are attracted back to me is AMAZING. It is the most empowering experience that I can even begin to imagine. I really do have the power to make my life incredible.

Ever since I started to really understand the concept of only getting more of what we already have inside, I truly feel empowered to manifest and attract more love into my life. For me, this also makes giving my love to others so much more rewarding. I don’t expect anything from the love I give, and I’m not attracted to places where it is unhealthy for me to express my love. Some situations I can send  love in a prayer that someone gets the help they need, or that a person sees how much harm they are doing to themselves by living in their darkness. Whatever the case may be, I’m always exactly where I’m supposed to be and so is my love.

I’ve attracted people in my life now that are capable of loving me back. Before I invested my time and energy into showing myself love, I would attract people who didn’t want to invest time and energy into showing me love. I got back the exact energy I put towards myself. Now, since I’m able to show myself love, I attract people who have no problems showing me love.

This love extends out all around me. I’m able to serve others with a full heart. I’m not trying to seek my worth in what I’m doing for someone else, so it doesn’t take loving energy away from him/her or me. I can just authentically be there serving with a grateful heart.

There are so many incredible blessings that come with seeing the power of how this works. I’m attracting the people who I’m meant to teach and/or be taught by. The lessons inspire me, where I used need a big hit over the head to get a lesson to take hold.

I love how my world has shifted by working on how I perceived myself and my value to this life. The abundance of love that I feel in my heart is overflowing. Life is really an amazing journey, and I’m so blessed for every moment I’m aware enough to be fully engaged in the experience!

Today I’m grateful

  1. I’m incredible grateful for the ability attract the energy of love to my life
  2. I’m grateful for the love I feel in nature
  3. I’m grateful for the love I feel from my family
  4. I’m grateful for the love I feel interacting with animals
  5. I’m grateful for the love I feel when I’m looking in the mirror

Day 58: Manifesting Love in My Life

Dear Self,

We are in this together. In order for me to manifest love in my life, I have to project the love out of me. The more love I project, the more I will manifest. If there was ever a reason to commit to loving and respecting myself—THIS IS IT!

I want to manifest not just more love in my life, but more love in the world. I want my energy to be part of the great force that helps shifts the energy of this planet back to a more loving one. I want the love to project out me to the point where I can feel the love in the air. I know that the only way to do this is to show myself the love that I want to feel in the world.

I’m committed to having a love affair with you! So lets start courting. Today, lets go enjoy a walk for sunset. We will pay attention to the reflections in the water, the birds flying, and the sounds nature has to offer us. I love that kind of stuff. Tomorrow, I will treat you to an amazing lunch with your favorite foods. I also want to make time to meditate, so that we can connect. Each day, I plan to invest the time in you that I would in someone else I was falling in love with. This includes writing you notes as a way to show you how much I love and appreciate the time we have together.

I’m already feeling my energy shift just by the simple thoughts of focusing on the things that I like to do and can do without someone outside of myself. This is going to be a beautiful journey.  I love knowing that I’m FULLY responsible for the success or failure of this relationship and only I can fix it.

Today I’m grateful

  1. I’m so incredibly grateful for being able to manifest love.
  2. I’m grateful for knowing that I’m in control of showing myself the love and respect that I deserve.
  3. I’m grateful ability to project out the love that’s in my heart.
  4. I’m grateful for manifesting incredible shifts in my life.
  5. I’m grateful for the passion to have a love affair with myself.

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me

Letters from A Better Me

Day 57: What I Represent in the World

Dear Self,

I’m clear about what I want more of in the world, which is seeing individuals living life from a loving place. I am responsible for the energy I put out to support this cause, which means I’m going to represent myself in a way that shows this in action. My awareness is essential when my mind is getting taken over by fearful thoughts or worrying about what others think of my journey. I commit to being vigilant in facing my fears, so that I can transform them into love, the energy I’m doing my best to represent.

When I engage with people who think differently than I do, I’m responsible for my choices in how I communicate my thoughts and visions. I’m not responsible for their energy. I know that change, growth, and expansion are apart of my journey and what I’m representing, so it is important for me to remain open and listen to/for connections with others through love. How is what they are communicating represent the love within them? If I want to see more love in the world than I need to ask enough questions to dig through people’s fears to find the love, which is sometimes buried deep down.

I’m open to listen to others point of views no matter how different they are from mine. I’m open and willing to examine my perspectives of truth to make sure that they represent what I stand for. I’m open and willing to change, grow, shift, and expand as I go along.

I accept that this journey is not about doing things perfectly. This journey of living from a loving place comes with many lessons. I’m going to see where I still need work and need to grow. I’m going to be challenged by my fears to act against, but I’m responsible for what I represent in the world at every moment. I have to choose whether to represent the love or the fear within me. I am responsible for the rewards and/or consequences of the energy I’m choosing to represent.

When I choose to represent love, I feel good inside and out. When I choose fear, I end up walking around in my head and missing opportunities to see anything but more fear, anger, hate, resentment, and violence. I keep reminding myself that what I’m seeing is a reflection of what is going on inside of me and ask myself:

  • What am I representing in this moment?
  • How does it feel to represent this energy?
  • What is keeping me in the energy of fear?
  • What is inspiring me to contribute to the energy of love?
  • What am I really representing by the choices I’m making in this moment?

I commit to keep writing, keep reading, keep listening, keep growing, and keep loving. I want to represent loving action like many who have come before me. I want to contribute my energy to changes I want to see in the world.

I know the only way I can do this is to make sure my energy on what I want to give the world is in-line with the energy I’m feeding into myself. I’m making sure that I take the time to take care of and nurture the love within me. I’m treating myself with the love and respect that I deserve. I’m holding myself accountable for my feelings, thoughts, and actions that I’m choosing towards myself. I am enough. I know my worth. I love the person I am. I treat myself accordingly. I know my actions speak louder than any words will ever be able to do.

I commit to continually asking myself the question:

How are my actions representing what I want to see in the world?

Today I’m grateful

  1. I’m grateful for opportunities to see love in action
  2. I’m grateful for the time to show myself the love I deserve
  3. I’m grateful to be apart of the lives of the people who choose to read what I write.
  4. I’m grateful to be apart of the lives of my family, friends, and loved ones.
  5. I’m grateful for my ability to listen to people who think differently than I do,

With Love and Gratitude,

Day 56: The Safety of My Self-Love

Dear Universe,

I feel so incredibly safe since I started truly loving myself. I know I’m on this journey doing the best I can. I have to commit to growing and expanding the love within me. I can only do that by uncovering the things that are blocking me from experiencing the full capacity of my love. I can’t put my faith in human interpretations of words. I have to go deeper. I have to find my connections in the loving energy that the words can’t express, but that actions can show. It’s more important for me to grow and expand than shrink and contain.

I’m a big fan of people who live with love as their guiding force; some are Christians, some are Jews, some are Muslims, some are Hindus, some are Buddhists, some are atheists, some are Democrats, some are Republicans, some are Americans, Some have dark skin, some have light skin, some are homosexual, some are heterosexual, some are women, some are men, and I can go on and on. Loving energy cannot be contained into any one path or any one title. When I found the love within myself beyond what I’ve been taught to fear—I found peace, connection, love, hope, and joy.

I will choose paths spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially that help me to understand love and how to live my life from a loving place from the inside out. I choose people to guide me on my personal path who teach me how to expand my love, help me accept all of my light and darkness within me, so that I can serve humanity shining my brightest light possible. Any belief (perspective of truth) I choose that keeps me from experiencing love is a belief to be questioned and transformed. I’m embracing the all-encompassing energy of love, which means I need to know how to love and honor myself so that the love is always safe and secure.

The safety of my self-love protects me and keeps my boundaries healthy. I love the journey I’m on. I love getting to learn about the fears I still have and the ones I’ve grown out of. I love that no matter how others treat me; I will love me more and do what is best for my journey. I love me, so I take care of me. I can’t expect someone else to take care of me better than I’m taking care of myself. If someone’s energy isn’t healthy for me to be around, I have to make choices to protect me, not from a place of fear, but from a place of self-care. I want to serve the world with my best foot forward, and I can only do that by putting the oxygen mask on me first. The better I treat myself, the better I can treat the world outside of me.

I’m growing my own beautiful garden within my mind. I’m choosing to nourish this garden with lots of love. I’m choosing to grow and expand this garden through my loving actions towards myself and others. I’m choosing seeds from other’s beautiful gardens that match the loving energy I have inside me. How I maintain my garden is up to me. What plants, trees, and flowers I choose to plant is up to me. What seeds I choose to let go of is up to me. I choose not to let the smothering vines of fear take over my garden. I want to dig them out from the roots. Those roots told me I wasn’t lovable exactly as I am. Those roots said I had no value or worth. Those roots told me to fear what is different. I’m digging these roots up. I’m learning from what happens when I leave these vines unattended. I’m seeing how my self-love keeps these vines from coming back and smuggling all my beautiful species I’ve planted.

I’m worthy of the love I give to myself. I’m worthy of the time I contribute to my self-care. I’m worthy of the nurturing I feed my body, mind, and soul. I am created from Divine Energy, the purest of all lights. I honor the energy that created me by letting my love for myself shine through connecting me to Source energy, the strongest and most beautiful light that lives within me.

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful that love cannot be contained within any ONE path
  2. I’m grateful to know my worth so that I can love myself
  3. I’m grateful for each day I get to expand and grow from the love within me
  4. I’m grateful for the opportunities I get to learn from other people’s loving actions
  5. I’m grateful to connect to the light of the Divine through the light shining within me.

Day 55: How I Honor the Person I Am

Dear Self,

With every step of the self-discovery process, I gain clarity. I’m bringing attention to how I honor the person I am. I’m choosing to be accountable for the choices I’m making. This list is to help keep my energy on the level that feels good on the inside, so that I’m conscious of what I’m sending out into the world.

  • I’m aware of what happens to my energy when I project out fear, shame, blame, judgment, self-abuse, and living in the past and the future do to my lack of self-worth. I know that when I’m in a healthy place, I don’t take my fears out on others. I treat others with the same love and respect that I treat myself. I know my value and worth so I treat myself with the love and respect I deserve. I show myself love and respect by treating my body right, treating my thoughts compassionately, and giving myself the time I deserve to nurture any feelings that come up that I need time to work through. I also won’t expect anybody to give me more quality time than I give myself.
  • I’m accountable for my feelings, thoughts, perspectives of truth, actions, and reactions. I am going to have feelings that feel good and ones that don’t. I’m responsible for the choices I make no matter what I’m feeling. My joy comes from within and so does my sadness. I will accept all my feelings because I know they are there to teach me something about the choices I’m making. I know I’m responsible for my thoughts, because there is always a different way I can choose to look at things. I am accountable for my perspectives of truth because they are the doorways to any path I choose. Finally, my actions and reactions are influenced by the way I’m perceiving reality. I am responsible for all the choices I make. Other people are responsible for their choices. If someone chooses to be unkind to me, that’s their business. My business is the energy I choose to put out towards them.
  • I’m very clear on the differences between love and fear. My definition of love leaves no room for cruelty under any circumstances. When I’m operating from a place of fear, I’m not capable of acting/reacting from a loving place. I will react from a place of fear, which leads to confusion and chaos within my mind, body, and soul. Feelings that come from fear, shame, blame, judgment, guilt, rage, hate, vengeance, insecurities, and/or lack of worth are not representing the love within me. It is important for me to watch these feelings as they come up so that I find a way to let love transcend them. My definition of love is:

“Love is patient; Love is kind; Love is NOT envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; It is not irritable or resentful; It does not rejoice in Wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” -Corinthians 13.4-13.7

  • I’m in complete acceptance that my past is over. The best thing I can do is learn from my experiences and let anything that keeps me stuck in my own darkness go. I want to be conscious to see warning signs and spot kindheartedness without confusing the two. I’m focused on healing any energy I have tied to unhealthy pieces of my past in regards to people, places, and things. I’m responsible for the negative energy I’m holding inside me and I don’t want to take old feelings out on unsuspecting people. I’m also letting go of my attachments to the unknown future. I can have goals, but it is my job to take the actions I need to take today to be the best version of me in this moment. I will leave my future open for the twists and turns so that I can enjoy the journey on this beautiful scenic route.  I’m going to be with people when I’m with them so that I can know with clarity that they are treating me the way I treat myself. I won’t put my head in the future ignoring the signs of the care for myself and others in the moment.
  • I want to be hold perspectives of truth led by love. I want to live my life from a loving place. It is my responsibility to look at my feelings, thoughts, perspectives of truth, actions, and reactions to make sure they are aligned with how I want to be living.
  • I have chosen perspectives of truth that support me becoming the best version of me. My perspectives reflect living life with an abundance of love for myself and others. I choose to follow the Divine Creator’s path of love to salvation. I choose to see individuals and find connections through our capacity to love. I choose to trust that everything happens for a reason, and that every lesson comes with its blessings. I choose to share my life openly without fear, so that I give myself the opportunity connect with other loving souls. I choose to believe that whatever I feel about myself reflects out to create my reality. I choose to believe we are all students and teachers and each life has value whether life ends in the womb or at an old age. People are here as long as they are meant to be to fulfill their Divine Contract to serve humanity. Some will serve through their darkness and others through their light. I choose to believe anything that has the ability to bring out our compassion, love, empathy, humanity, and connection has authentic value.
  • I’m choosing to live in gratitude and abundance. The more I choose gratitude, the more abundant I feel. I know that I’m reflecting what I feel inside, so gratitude helps me manifest more of what I’m appreciating in my life.
  • How I’m treating myself is reflecting the way I want to be treated by others. I know that I can’t expect people to treat me better than I’m treating myself, so I’m making sure I put the time and energy to me that I deserve. I know I’m responsible for the energy that is coming back to me. If I don’t like what I’m getting, I need to check in with me to see what dark areas of myself I’m still feeding. I need to make sure that I’m showing myself that I’m deserving of time, energy, nurturing, and love.
  • My intention is to live life from a loving place and appreciate each day for the blessings that it gives me.
  • My intention in giving is to assist people uncover the best versions of themselves. I want to help others find the perspectives of truths that will bring the most love and peace into their lives. I want to serve humanity from a loving place. My intention is to increase the light shining in the world.
  • I love myself more than I ever have before. I truly believe that the more I love myself the more I’m able to connect with God’s love for me. When I see me through the eyes of love, I’m connecting deeper with the Divine, because I’m connecting through the light I was created with. The more solid I am in my own self-love, the more love I have to give and connect to others with.
  • I’m right here and right now. I want to enjoy the journey of life. I want to see each step and each miracle as it unfolds before me. When I’m not where my feet are I try to get a touch stone in nature to look at to bring me back to the moment I’m in, because when I’m not in the present, I get stressed. That is not where I want to be.
  • I’m open to try new things as they are presented to me on my path. I trust the Universe when I get signs to talk to people, read things, watch things, or do things. I want to live this life knowing I made the most out of every moment, so I’m open to learn, try, and explore life beyond my comfort zone.

Knowing these things about myself helps me enjoy my journey and be more conscious of what I’m learning.

Today I’m grateful

  2. I’m grateful for the loving energy I feel from the people who I love
  3. I’m grateful for the silence on my first walk with my dog in the morning
  4. I’m grateful for today for giving me a chance to see more love in the world
  5. I’m grateful for my life’s journey
