Dreams Coming True: Becoming the Butterfly

Dear Dreamers,

I’m writing this today simply because I am beyond excited for what is going on in my life right now. As I reflect on my journey so far, I’m simply amazed at how each and every event in my life has played such an important role in where I am right now. If you follow my writing, you understand that I use nature a lot to make sense of the journey. I want to bring you into my mind’s garden.

My Internal Garden

As a child, my garden was filled with weeds, smuggling vines, and invasive species that tried to kill off any of the beautiful life I would try to plant. So much so that it almost smuggled the life right out of me. It was in 1996 when I realized that I could clear out some of these weeds. That’s when I was launched into a career of public speaking. I planted flower after flower and tree after tree, but what I didn’t realize is that because I didn’t fix the foundation my garden was on, one day I would sabotage this dream come true.

Those smuggling vines took over my garden once again and I went on a downward spiral. I had so much to learn. Looking back I’m so grateful for all my lessons in my time of darkness. I was living life as a caterpillar that spewed toxic venom because of the environment I created. There were still trees of life and wisdom trying to survive which would lead me to seek help when I was desperate enough to realize that I didn’t like the person I had become. Looking back I was given so many amazing seeds during this time, and it was a message from a pastor that finally led me to really invest myself in not only cleaning up the invasive species from my garden, but to clean up my foundation so that my trees could grow and provide the food that the caterpillar needs to transform into the butterfly.

His message was that we only allow ourselves as much happiness that we believe we deserve. If we exceed that level of happiness, we will sabotage it.

You better believe I started getting really dirty in my garden to figure out why I didn’t believe I deserved happiness in my life. As I dug deeper, and got dirtier, the work brought me peace. The more peace I found digging in my garden, the healthier my soil became. I started taking care of those seeds that were given to me. My caterpillar self, started to build a chrysalis.

I sat for a long time in my chrysalis gaining strength, reflecting, and transforming. In the chrysalis is where I learned the power of letting go and forgiveness. The person I needed to forgive the most was myself. From there, I found away to learn from all the traumas in my life.

What I learned gave me power to plant more amazing trees and let them flourish. I absorbed lesson after lesson of on perspectives to understand how powerful each and every person is at creating their own gardens, and that what others chose to plant was not my business. All I can ever do for someone is to offer seeds in the way that I know best. I also have to take responsibility if I learn that the seeds I’m passing aren’t healthy.

In my chrysalis I found stillness, presence, and mindfulness to keep me in the mindset of maintaining my garden. I realized that any belief that causes me pain doesn’t HAVE to be in my garden, that is a choice I’m making. I have the power to choose my feelings, thoughts, beliefs/perspectives, actions, and reactions. I will learn from each decision I make and I will allow this choice to set me free— with that, I became the butterfly. My garden now healthy and well maintained provides me with all that I need to keep me nourished, energized, rested, and able to soar.

This doesn’t mean I won’t need to go back on a caterpillar’s journey again, because each time I do go back, I learn more. I no longer resent the journey, I embrace it, because I know it leads to breakthrough. I gain more perspective, and I become a better version of myself. I just don’t stay in the caterpillar state as long. I move into my chrysalis absorb my lessons and come out more empowered and colorful each time.

Why Am I Sharing this Journey with You?

I created a program called, “Becoming the Butterfly” that I’m launching at a Dreamer’s Paradise *Now or Never event in St. Petersburg, FL, Oct. 26, 2019. As I’ve been preparing for this moment, I’m flooded with emotion because this will be my first event since 2002. I started my public speaking career in the Tampa Bay Area and now I’m going back there to re-launch my career with so much more to offer. I’m coming home. I’ve been standing up in front of crowds since I was 14-years old. I went on to earn awards in high school for public speaking, English, and guidance, yet back then never knew that it would lead to a path that I loved being on. My garden is exactly how I want it right now. I’m ready to share the seeds that helped me to create it.

This comes in perfect timing as my first book is coming out on February 18, 2020. Make no mistake; there is a reason the butterfly is on the cover. You can read more about it and *pre-order your copy today.

If you want to start getting dirty right now, you can go to my *90-Day A Better Me Series

Just remember we are the ones who create our gardens.  We have to provide ourselves with the right food to nurture us to become the butterfly. Watching butterflies soar above us, won’t give us our wings. If we want to live the life of our dreams, we can’t just admire the butterflies around us. We have to do the work it takes to become the butterfly. Only then will we soar.

Thank you for being on this journey with me by reading my work. I started writing this blog in 2016 as way to help me maintain my garden. Focusing on perspectives that keep my energy in a loving place has been such an empowering tool. It keeps my foundation filled with love, which is what encourages all the seeds I want in my garden to grow. I am beyond grateful to each individual who has told me how my seeds have helped her/him. I can’t make anyone plant seeds in their gardens and nobody can make me plant seeds I don’t want in mine, so when I know that a person made the conscious decision to do it, I’m truly honored.

I hope you will join me in spreading the love on social media. The *Facebook.com/FromALovingPlace page offers lots and lots of daily encouragement from pages who have a like-minded visions of  raising our collective energy. You will find all my social media links at on the main page to the left. I hope you decide to work on your garden so that you can be living the life of your dreams.

With Love and Gratitude,

Rachael Wolff

LETTERS FROM A BETTER ME: The Empowered Me

Dear Self,

I have the choice to feel: happy, sad, mad, love, fear, empowered, depleted, and on and on. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances are. These are my choices. I will choose actions based on how I choose to feel and what I choose to believe. I pray that I choose wisely today so that I can live my best life.

I can only be empowered if I remember that I ALWAYS have choices. Nobody can take away my choices to feel, think, believe, act, respond, and react. I’m the only one with that power and I WILL take responsibility for my choices.

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me

90-Day A Better Me Letters Series: THANK YOU

Letters From A Better Me

Dear Readers,

I want to take a moment to thank all the readers who came on the 90-Day A Better Me Series adventure with me. This series was such a joy to create and write everyday. It was very weird yesterday taking the day off knowing that the series was over. For three months I’ve committed myself to this project. In the beginning, all I knew was my three parts and that I wanted them for an equal number of days. I made a chart for Part I of all the topics I wanted to cover, then day by day wrote whatever came to me. I’m sure some days were full of grammatical errors, because my pure focus was on the message. When I get too into grammar, my head isn’t focused in the right place. As the month would come to the end I would start making the chart for the next month. I would have to rearrange and change some titles, but everything kept flowing together effortlessly. I felt so blessed that there wasn’t a moment of writer’s block.

My life and learning experiences took me on this journey, so it wasn’t me just asking others to do the work, I was doing it. As many times as I’ve done all this work, I find I have to continue to work on me daily. As a single mother of two teenagers I get tested, and if I’m not keeping up with my self-care, I can tell and they can definitely tell. The difference is now, I allow any dark energy I have to teach me right away so that it doesn’t build into toxic energy.

As you may have noticed along with the series being free there were no outside advertisements. I did this because I know sometimes all the outside messages can break the momentum of feelings and physical experiences that occur during the process. I  just know when I’m  into a message than by accident, I click on an  advertisement or read it, I’m taken out of the moment. I wanted to make sure that you could have the best experience possible.

To all the readers who left me comments, liked and/or shared posts that resinated with you, thank you for spreading the love and appreciation. I loved seeing the familiar faces and knowing when a message seemed to really hit. I love watching people grow within themselves, because I know how it feels and how freeing it is. It was such a blessing to have you all on this journey.

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful for all my readers and followers.
  2. I’m grateful for the experience of writing the 90-Day series.
  3. I”m grateful to my family and friends who have supported me during this this process.
  4. I’m grateful for all the people who showed up with lessons for me to learn.
  5. I’m so incredibly grateful for having an amazing outlet to reach people across the world who want to unite in love and light.

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me

90-Day A Better Me Series: Day 90 – Leading by Example

90-Day A Better Me Series

Part III: Living the Journey

Making the Now Count: Rebuilding our Lives

Day 90: Leading by Example

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”

-John Maxwell

When I started this 90-Day A Better Me Series, one of my goals was not just to write about how to clean up our own foundation, re-build, then share our tools with others. It was to do the steps along with my readers. That is why I wrote the 90-Day A Better Me Letters Series to go with it. Before the 90-Day A Better Me Series, I had done a test-run of my 35-Day A Better Me Boot Camp, which I also did along with participants. I don’t just talk about these concepts, like I’ve said before these concepts of self-care aren’t new. What you are seeing in these pages is how I applied them to my life, how I combined them, and how I saw the connections between them. I made what sometimes people us to separate and disconnect each other into connections within me through loving feelings, thoughts, perspectives of truth, actions, reactions, and responses. I don’t believe in do as I say, not as I do thinking.

I don’t expect people to do more than I’m willing to do myself. I don’t expect people to do anything they are not ready to do, or don’t want to do. I know when someone is ready because they don’t talk about wanting to change, they step up and do the work. We have to want peace to the point where we are willing to step out of our own chaos. For some of us, we’ve been marinating in chaos from before we even could understand it. Chaos becomes comfortable. I get it, internal chaos was a comfort zone for me for a long time, I still attach to a little chaos here and there. I just keep taking steps and it becomes less and less. I had to live this in order to show the way for others.

“People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do.”

Lewis Cass

Being the change means we lead by example. I told you early on that if you stuck with me through the entire series and did the work things would start transforming in your life. I wrote, read, and did the work of the series for these last 90 days, and I have to report that once again, AMAZING shifts within me and in my external world keep happening. On Day 88, I signed a contract for my first book deal, Letters from A Better Me: The Empowered Woman. On Day 89, my passenger side window of my car broke; I kept a positive attitude about it. When I called to make an appointment to get it fixed, the woman on the phone told me anytime I need anything, please contact her directly because she considered me a pleasure to work with and she loved the energy that I put off. Those are just a couple examples of the kind of things that have been happening.

The energy we put out will come back to us, so if we truly want to stand up as a leaders, we have to be the example. If we expect others to do what we aren’t willing to do ourselves, we often will be led to live in lack. We won’t appreciate what others are doing, because we can’t see how challenging it can be to do what we are asking them to do. When we see people working through challenges, we are more likely to appreciate their efforts if we have been there ourselves. Leading by example keeps us in the energy of gratitude/abundance.

We ALL have the opportunity to learn from the mistakes, trips, slaps in the faces, trauma, drama, chaos, confusion, and losses we experience. How we get up is how we choose to lead others. Do we lead through the path of love or the path of fear? What we choose to do says it all. If we ourselves make a mistake, then we go attacking others by shaming, blaming, and judging to get the heat off ourselves, we are teaching others to do the same. If we make a mistake, take responsibility, and take actions to learn from and find solutions encouraging others to help get creative— The mistake can be avoided next time. We bring light into the darkness and let our mistakes teach us how to become better.

“What you do has far greater impact than what you say.”

-Stephen Covey

How people choose to live, choose to lead, choose to feel, choose to think, choose to believe, and choose to act will be different. The questions we want to be asking ourselves:

  • Are we making life choices from a place of love OR fear?
  • Are we choosing to lead from a place of love OR fear?
  • Are we choosing our feelings based on beliefs of love OR fear?
  • Are our perspectives of truth from a place of love OR fear?
  • Are we choosing to perceive events, conversations, self-reflection from a place of love OR fear?
  • Are we judging others from a place of love OR fear?

The energy we project will come from the love or the fear within us. What we manifest comes from the love or the fear we project. What we attract back to us comes from the love or the fear we manifested in the world. BE CLEAR on what you are putting out there for others to spread and expand upon. Lead by example!

5 Steps to Leading by Example

  1. Be AWARE of the ENERGY you are projecting (Days 2-30)! We all have light (love) and darkness (fear) within us. Be aware of which one you are letting be the dominant energy you are choosing to live by.
  2. Accept responsibility for your choices (Day31-60)! Others cannot make us feel, think, or do anything. You make choices in how you want to perceive what happens and how you interpret people, places, and things. Don’t give your power away by blaming, shaming, judging, and hating. Doing those things puts your energy in your darkness.
  3. Be solution minded (Day 61-90)! Staying in the energy of blame keeps us stuck (lack) in the darkness and blocks our minds from finding creative solutions (abundance). If you are open and willing to learn from the mistakes and missteps, you can make changes and improvements that turn out better than the solutions that come from the energy of fear and lack. Those solutions tend to cause more problems in the future, because lack breeds lack.
  4. Be the change (Day 89)! Represent the energy and the change that you want to see. Do whatever work necessary to keep you projecting light into the world.
  5. TAKE CARE OF YOUR ENERGY!!! SELF-CARE, SELF-CARE, SELF-CARE! Make sure you have an active self-care regimen (Day 73). Do the work to keep yourself in the energy you want to be creating your reality from. This is your life, LEAD IT!

When we are truly ready to take responsibility for our lives, we empower ourselves to BE THE CHANGE—No stories, no blaming, no shaming, and NO EXCUSES! We become the light and can lead ourselves through the darkness. If others choose to see our light, it will help them to see what was hidden in their own darkness. We then can give them tools to help keep their light on—Leading by example.

Thank you for joining me on this 90-Day adventure. I’ve loved all the interactions, comments, and places this journey has led me to. I’m so incredibly grateful for the time you’ve taken to read the words I’ve felt led to write. Three months, around 400 hundred pages, and whole lot of love has filled me with abundance and gratitude for this amazing life I’m choosing to live. Now, I’m in the best place possible to work on the trimming and editing of the Letters from A Better Me: The Empowered Women.

Subscribe to follow FromALovingPlace.com for inspiration, updates, new adventures, promotions on the 35-Day A Better Me Boot Camp, and so much more. Whatever you CHOOSE to do—I hope you keep choosing to live from a loving place.

Letters from A Better Me

90-Day A Better Me Letters Series

Part III: Living the Journey

Making the Now Count: Rebuilding our Lives

Day 89: Being the Change

Dear Self,

Life is full of twists, turns, hills, and valleys. There are amazing panoramic views surrounding me if I have the right lens to look through life with. I choose the lens of love or fear with each feeling, thought, perspective of truth, and/or step (action) I take. I can step towards the energy of fear and engage in battle with all my opponents. Or I can step towards love and let my light within lead me to bring light into situations where there already is enough dark. In order for me to be the change that I think the world deserves, I have to stay in my light as often as I can.

This doesn’t mean I have to put up with or accept unacceptable behavior. This doesn’t mean I have to give my energy to people who want to release their toxic energy on me. This doesn’t even mean I have to expose myself to energy that I don’t feel comfortable around. If I need space and distance from specific people to protect my energy, I will do that. Most times, I will choose to pray for them. I find that prayer keeps me in my light. When I choose fear, I gossip creating more darkness. If I need to protect myself with healthy boundaries when interacting with people, I will do that. If I need to go a step further and get the law involved when needed, I will do that. I will do what feels right for me at the time and do the best I can to maintain and protect my energy to the best of my ability. Taking care of my own energy comes first. Otherwise, I can’t be the change I want if my energy isn’t aligned with the change I want to see. I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF ME so that I can be the best version of me. If I do that, I trust where I’m being led and who I’m being led to help and/or serve.

If I’m not taking proper care of me, no matter how much good I trying to do in the world, I will attract back chaos and drama to my life in some way or another. The Universe has to give me back the energy I’m putting out. This goes well beyond thoughts. This is all the darkness buried inside of me that I haven’t been willing to expose to light too. The deeper I’m willing to go, the better change I can be. I will choose to live my life in the abundance of gratitude, practicing presence, checking in with my thinking, re-channeling my energy (when needed), connecting to center (which for me is nature), connecting my light to Divine light, and being the change.

No one can force me to be anything I’m not. I make choices and I’m taking responsibility for my decisions to contribute to the love or the fear in the world. I want my energy to go into who I am (love), what I’m projecting, and what I want reflected back to me. I know what I have to do and keep doing. I’m committed to being A BETTER ME, so that I can BE THE CHANGE the world deserves.

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful for the opportunities I get to consciously choose to spread love or fear. Especially when I’m in full awareness of choosing love (IT IS SO POWERFUL).
  2. I’m grateful for wisdom to know where my responsibility to BE THE CHANGE is and how to do it.
  3. I’m grateful for this incredible moment and all the positive energy running through me.
  4. I’m grateful for my connection to nature to assist me in re-centering my energy.
  5. I’m grateful for the energy I feel when I know I’m being the change instead of fighting against.

With Love and Gratitude,

Letters from A Better Me

90-Day A Better Me Letters Series

Part III: Living the Journey

Making the Now Count: Rebuilding our Lives

Day 87: Being Active About What I Stand For

Dear Self,

Sometimes I can get up in the negative energy of what is going on around me, whether it is raising teenagers, on social media, or in society. I’m human. What’s important for me is to be able to take a step back and get a clear look at what I’m representing. If I don’t like what my feelings, thoughts, perspectives of truth, actions, and reactions are saying and/or projecting, I have the ability to shift, grow, and change. There is so much power behind something so simply as taking personal responsibility.

Taking personal responsibility makes it possible for me to do my best in representing what I’m standing for. What I’d like to accomplish is to help myself and others to enjoy the journey inward, so that we are projecting out the energy that we WANT to see more of in the world. I want to contribute to a stronger and more beautiful energy in our physical world. I stand for love, connection, compassion, empathy, peace and overall goodness. I have to represent that in my inner and outer life. I need to check-in when I feel my own chaos. I have to take responsibility so that I can transmute it into an energy that I want to be projecting.

My mission is to empower others to be their best selves, whatever that look like to them. I want to celebrate people’s journeys in living life from a loving place.  I believe that standing to represent the sharing and spreading of love can change the political, social, spiritual, and financial environment that I live in. I want to contribute my energy to what I want to see more of in the world—Love and abundance united!

In order to represent love in the way I want to, I have to take care of me. I have to feel that love for myself running into everything that I do for others. I need to stay on top of my self-care and know that if I’m not, I’m not projecting my best energy out into the world. I’m responsible for the energy I’m putting out there and I need to be aligned with the energy I’m trying to project, or else I’m unconsciously projecting my darkness. It’s so important for me to love myself on this journey.

I’m continuously amazed at what happens when my energy is aligned. Pathways to share and spread love open up all around me. I may be inspired to write something that others can relate to. I see a quote that I feel strong about sharing. I may spend extra time talking to people who reach out to me. I come up with and create programs to support my personal mission and a way to actively participant in representing what I stand for. I may simply take responsibility for my darkness to show others that learning from our darkness is apart of our journey. I may have friends call me out of the blue who are looking to break unhealthy patterns in their lives. The people I’m meant to help show up. I trust that this journey is taking me exactly where I’m supposed to go. I need to keep taking steps in the direction of what I stand for and the expansive energy of the Universe does the rest.

What is important is that I stay true to what I stand for. I’m a big supporter of women’s empowerment, but not at the expense of disempowering others. I don’t believe that all men are pigs, or we have to take men down a notch. To me, the more I can encourage men and women to love themselves, the less likely they will be to attack or try to overpower each other. I believe that we only try to overpower each other when we still have our own darkness and/or toxic energy that needs attention. I want to help people heal that so that we can help lift each other up instead of take each other down. When I’m supporting women’s empowerment, I have to be conscious about the energy I’m attaching to while standing up for the cause. This example also helps me to remember this in my personal/ professional life as well. Apart of sharing and spreading love is to commit to trying to understand perspectives of truth that I don’t follow, because I can’t find love in what I don’t understand. My commitment to learning about others is crucial for being able to represent what I stand for in the best way possible.

I will continue to take responsibility for my feelings, thoughts, perspectives of truth, and actions. I’m responsible for any and all light and/or darkness I choose to spread in the world. Knowing my responsibility empowers me to make better choices.

I commit to working on myself on a regular basis so that I can be the best possible version of me. I know that taking these steps make it possible to be active about what I stand for.

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m so incredibly grateful that I can actively represent what I stand for.
  2. I’m grateful for all the people who are drawn into my life.
  3. I’m grateful to the people who share my vision.
  4. I’m grateful to the people who show me how important my work is.
  5. I’m grateful for the relationship I have with myself, which allow me to change, grow, and expand on a regular basis.

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me

Day 86: Consciously Projecting Love Through My Actions

Dear Universe,

When I got the tools to be conscious in my feelings, thoughts, and actions my world changed. My life changed when I knew that I was responsible for what I was projecting out to the world. Any feeling I feed takes on a life and an energy that emanates from me. I started asking myself what exactly do I want to be projecting? The answer—LOVE!

Once I answered that question, lesson after lesson came for me to see where I was feeding love and where I was feeding fear. Being conscious is such an amazing gift. When I know I’m feeding fear, and I’m willing to look at it and question it, I take away fears power over me. My light shines on my own darkness. This makes it possible to consciously project love through my actions.

When I hug someone, I’m really hugging her/him with all the light inside me. If I don’t feel comfortable hugging someone, I don’t hug them. When I’m listening to someone, I do my best to stay present with them so that they know that I’m fully there. When I pray for someone, I put all my love and light into the prayer and I don’t pray to get my own way. I remind myself of my straw-holed view of the whole picture. When I volunteer my time, I give my time completely so that the cause I’m supporting gets the best parts of me. When I put dinner on the table, I show up fully and disconnected from any and all technology. When I agree to work with people, they get my full dedication to the process of transformation. I love what I have to offer the world through my actions when they are projections of love.

I love my relationships since I started taking responsibility for only my energy. This way, I know when I need to apologize and I know when I give love authentically. If I’m not, I can question my feelings, thoughts, and actions to bring me back to love. It’s an AMAZING blessing to have these tools.

It’s my intention to project love through my actions on a daily basis. It is my responsibility to check-in and care for myself so that I’m consciously making choices. I’m so incredibly grateful for the tools to do what I love naturally. I’m guided to all the right places when my energy is aligned with the light within me.

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful that I can choose to be conscious of my choices
  2. I’m grateful that I’m empowered to take loving action
  3. I’m grateful that each minute I get a choice of how I want to live it.
  4. I’m grateful that I have people around me who project love.
  5. I’m grateful to know I can choose love no matter what another person chooses.

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me

Day 85: Using My Creativity to Help People Find Their Tools to Build From A Loving Place

Dear Self,

I’ve learned so much on my journey and my life has transformed from living a life of insanity to living a life from a loving place. I have to be creativity in order to stay open to the possibility of my life being better. I have to fully engage in the process of living, changing, learning, growing, and expanding. All those processes took doing the work in order for new ways of living to take hold. Now, I’m using my creativity to help people find their tools to build from a loving place. I know that I can’t make anyone choose to live from this place. That is a choice that is up to them. I can find creative ways to show them how living this way has changed my life and what it has helped me create. If they are inspired, they will want to strip down their foundation of fear and replace it with a foundation of love, so that they to can build a life from a loving place too. I know each individual has his/ her own path. My work may simply just be a seed a person takes a long the way. He or she may choose to plant it, hold onto it, or just throw it away. Those are their choices. I’m just happy to have a seed I feel is worth giving. I’m not responsible for the upkeep and care of someone else’s garden. I just need to love, honor, and respect mine enough to take care of it so I keep producing the seeds I want to be spreading.

I love what has happened to my life by allowing my creativity a place to shine. My letters, gratitude lists, perspective work, nature photography, and collages help me to keep my mind focusing on possibilities daily. When my focus is here I feel my life growing and expanding. I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be right now. I know longer put myself in any mental prison with my fears. I love having the opportunity to pass on the things I’ve learned to help others find the tools that work for them.

My gratitude fills me with such abundance and joy. My heart is overflowing with passion for the work that I do for myself and for others. I would love for others to have to opportunity to feel this way too. Living life from a loving place is inward journey that creates miracles in our physical world. It’s living in connection. I absolutely love connecting to people who are choosing to live from a loving place because the energy is palpable. I feel the AWE for life when I see and feel the AWE in others—Its part of the magic of this journey! I’m brought to tears with just the thought of it.

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful for the ability to pass what I’ve learned onto others.
  2. I’m grateful for getting to live from a loving place daily.
  3. I’m grateful for all the relationships that were created from a loving place.
  4. I’m grateful for the tools I have to get me back to a loving place when I’m lost in fear.
  5. I’m grateful for every step I’ve taken that has led me to where I am today.

Day 84: Keeping the Toxic Energy Out of My Internal Home

Dear Self,

I’m responsible for any darkness that turns into toxic energy in my home. I’m the only person who can keep it out. If I have attached to someone else’s toxic energy it’s because it exists in me. It may look different, he could be an abuser and I may be a recipient of his abuse, but I only accept his abuse if I’m abusing myself inside, which would be my toxic energy. I’ve been there and done that, no need to do it again. I couldn’t think of a better reason to STOP abusing myself. I can’t make others change their toxic energy, but I can change my own. I’ve come along way from the days where I accepted unacceptable behavior from others and/or myself.

Now, it’s about making sure the toxic energy doesn’t come back in to germinate, grow, and expand. The only way I can keep this from happening is get the lessons from the darkness that enters my world, and turn on the light. Toxic energy can’t grow in my internal home if I don’t attach to stories about the past or future. When I’m present, there is no story. I can deal with what comes up in the moment.

When I’m present, I’m aware. I can learn from whatever darkness starts to stir inside of me because I can get a clear view of it. I don’t have to let it turn into toxic energy. Toxic energy is what creates the toxic patterns that get me into trouble. Addictions are birthed and fed in toxic energy, so I need to be aware if I start doing anything to the extent of addiction, because succumbing to addiction is just another form of self-abuse. I can’t numb my darkness away; it only would turn into a fast growing toxic force field around my life. NO THANK YOU! I will choose to stay aware.

If I stay aware, I can check-in with my perspectives of truth easily. If I’m triggered, I can look at if I’m attaching to a perspective of truth that grows hidden toxic energy within my walls. When I stay aware, I can change my perspective of truth to serve the life I am choosing to live.

If I want to continue to consciously choose how I live, I have to keep doing the work. If I don’t do the work, the toxic energy has space to grow. My self-care is so important. Even my connection with God struggles if I’m not doing the work. When I used to get too caught up in my story, because I wasn’t doing the work and staying present, I blamed God for what was happening in my life. I wasn’t learning and growing from the important lessons I was getting, I was using them as an excuse to self-abuse.  I was giving my power away and I was even the victim of God in my story. NOT GOOD! When I do the work, I choose to live my best life and my connection with God is solid and healthy which engages my light.

When I do the work, I keep my light on. When I’m shining my light the people who are attracted to my life are shining their own light without trying to dim mine. The people who are stuck in their darkness aren’t even attracted to me—They are repelled. That’s why I stopped taking it personal when people don’t like me. I trust they aren’t meant to be in my life. When I don’t attach to the story of why someone doesn’t like me, I’m free to continue to shine my light.

What keeps me shining bright is gratitude. I’m living in true abundance when the energy of gratitude is filling me. Toxic energy has no place to hide and/or grow. It dies! My life is full and expanding. There are no empty holes to fill, just room for growth and expansion.

When I operate from a place of abundance, I live from a loving place. I give from a loving place. I receive from a loving place.  There is nothing more fulfilling than knowing that what I’m authentically putting out there is what I’m getting back. Even my lessons come from a loving place, and I can see the benefits. It’s AMAZING TO LIVE FROM HERE!

I know I’m not going to stay in this energy every second. I will slip, stumble, and fall as apart of my learning process. I simply just do my best. I learn from my slips, stumbles, and falls on my ass and I grow. If I choose to linger in my darkness, it’s because there is a bigger lesson to learn there. It just means I need to move deep through it and see what comes out of the depths. This is an important part of my growth, and accepting that is doing my best.

This process isn’t a one or two time fix. These are the tools I need for a lifetime. I know I may forget to pick one up, forget about one, and/ or upgrade my tool chest, but the important thing to remember is that I have a choice in how I choose to grow and expand my internal home. I am the only one responsible for keeping it clean and maintaining it. I can’t be scared of the dark. I have to be willing to shine the light by repeating and expanding on the tools I’ve learned.

What’s important to me is to stay open to change, grow, and expand. This means I have to embrace my lessons and see the blessings. This is the life I’ve chosen in order to keep my internal home clear of toxic energy. Doing this doesn’t just benefit me; it benefits all the people I have relationships with. It benefits all the causes I serve. It benefits the bigger picture of this life.

If I don’t have toxic energy in my internal home, I’m not spreading it to the people around me. I’m taking responsibility for my darkness and not blaming others for my triggers. I’m whole. I AM!

Today I’m Grateful

  1. I’m grateful for each new day because everyone I get gives me an opportunity to be and do better.
  2. I’m grateful for all the lessons that helped me to clean my soul with my tears.
  3. I’m grateful for my ability to see toxic energy and take steps to clean it up.
  4. I’m grateful that my love is stronger than any fear that I need to face.
  5. I’m grateful I AM.

With Love and Gratitude,

A Better Me
